Triple-Screen Dashboard Is the Headline Act Mahindra BE 6
The current Mahindra BE 6 ships with a dual-screen setup — one display for the instrument cluster and one for infotainment, each 12.3 inches. The Sporteq trim adds a third 12.3-inch screen dedicated to the front passenger, all three housed under one panoramic panel. That third screen opens the door to video calls, games, and streaming for the co-driver without them needing to peer over at the driver’s display.

This isn’t a first for Mahindra. The same triple-screen layout already features on the XEV 9e, XEV 9S, and the recently launched XUV 7XO, so the brand is essentially standardizing this cabin architecture across its higher-end electric and ICE line-up. It also puts the BE 6 on equal footing with its closest rival, the Tata Sierra EV, which already offers a similar three-screen setup.
Importantly, this triple-screen dash appears exclusive to the Sporteq trim. Lower variants of the BE 6 are expected to soldier on with the existing dual-screen layout.
The Halo Loop Is Gone
One of the most talked-about design elements of the current BE 6 is its “halo loop” — the central spine that visually separates the driver and front passenger, giving the cabin a cockpit-like feel. Leaked images show this partition has been removed on the Sporteq.
Opinions on this change are already split among enthusiasts, since the halo loop was a signature part of the BE 6’s identity. But it wasn’t without drawbacks: it left little room for a second cup holder and made the wireless charger and USB-C ports awkward to reach from the passenger seat. With the loop gone, spy shots confirm a second cup holder has appeared in the centre console, and access to the charging points should improve.
New Mahindra BE 6 Black-and-Tan Colour Scheme
Mahindra BE 6 teaser already hinted at this, and the spy shots confirm it: the Sporteq gets a fresh black-and-tan interior theme, applied across the dashboard, seats, and door cards. The two-spoke steering wheel carries over, now with a tan contrast element to match.
Overall, the leaked cabin looks noticeably more premium and less busy than the outgoing design, with a cleaner dashboard that drops the central spine in favour of a more conventional layout.
What’s Not Changing
Based on current leaks, Mahindra isn’t touching the powertrain. The Sporteq is expected to continue with the same rear-motor setup as the standard BE 6, offering up to 286hp and 380Nm, paired with 59kWh and 79kWh battery packoptions and a claimed range of up to 682km on the larger pack. Whether the Sporteq will be offered with both batteries or only as a range-topping variant with the bigger one is still unconfirmed.
Timing and Why It Matters
The Sporteq’s arrival comes at an interesting moment — BE 6 sales dipped to just 541 units in July, likely because Mahindra has been winding down the outgoing version ahead of this update. A refreshed, more feature-rich Sporteq trim could help the BE 6 regain momentum against rivals like the Tata Sierra EV and Hyundai Creta Electric.
